Role: Associate Mechanical Engineer - Building Services (Design)
Type: Full-Time, Hybrid, Permanent
Location: Southwark, London


We're looking for an Associate Mechanical Engineer in London!

This role would ideally suit a Chartered (CIBSE) Building Services Design Engineer with a mechanical bias, learned through service in a UK consulting environment.

Role Outline:

As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will report directly to the Regional Director and be responsible for delivering projects and developing new business.

  • Listed Building Refurbishments

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Assist and act as a deputy for the Regional Director as needed, taking responsibility for the leadership, management, and performance-both technical and commercial-of assigned projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in Mechanical Engineering and Building Services, including construction products and materials.
  • Build and sustain a strong network of industry contacts, and actively participate in relevant events such as seminars and conferences.
  • Contribute to the management of both technical and commercial aspects of all projects.
  • Establish and uphold high technical standards.
  • Review and approve work produced by others to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to all safety and IMS (Integrated Management System) procedures and ensure that staff follow these protocols as well.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified Chartered Engineer in a relevant field, or an Engineer with lower qualifications and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and sound judgment.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated, with a commitment to continuous skill development.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships both within the organization and externally.
  • Ability to apply technical expertise to analyse problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Capable of leading and motivating teams by setting a positive example.
  • Dependable and responsible in your approach to work.
