Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design and development of electrical systems for water and wastewater projects, from conception through to construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team on projects focusing primarily on water & wastewater M&E capital and growth projects
  • Support Project Managers with knowledge to complete electrical design and project engineering deliverables
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external design review and progress meetings
  • Participate in design coordination with other engineering disciplines and professionals
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations, including load calculations and power system analysis
  • Create electrical engineering drawings, including single-line diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts
  • Review specifications and designs against industry standards and electrical codes
  • Produce engineering reports and feasibility studies
  • Develop risk assessments and method statements
  • Engage in continual professional development, including pursuing professional registration (actively supported by the company)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Preferably an Electrical Engineering Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in electrical engineering or related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience in electrical design development for clean / wastewater non-infrastructure is desirable
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes and electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
