Hourly - Specialized Recreation Class B Driver

Position Description Under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Hourly - Specialized Recreation Class B Driverprovides safe transportation, in a City of Walnut Creek vehicle, to participants attending various activities needing transport. In general position will be transporting individuals with special needs to various activities such as day trips, evening social activities and dinners. Position is part-time and scheduled according to when activities are planned. Driver is able to choose when s/he is available to drive. Hours available vary from week to week but average 10 hours a month. Driver will assist and take part in whatever activity is being attended by the participants. Our Specialized Recreation Team: Our trained and caring team takes a person-first approach to providing recreational opportunities for youth and adults with special needs, ensuring that every participant has the chance to broaden their experiences while engaging in fun-filled activities and events. Representative Duties Examples of Duties: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Observe applicable safety requirements, use safety equipment provided, implement appropriate safety practices at all times and report immediately any unsafe working conditions or hazards.
