Job Description

Exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic, well organised Export Logistics Manager to join a growing, ambitious business in Witham, Essex. Friendly working hours (9am-5pm, Mon-Fri) and excellent pay (Up to £40k, dependent on experience).

Our client is a leading supplier of tableware and display ware to the food industry. With offices and warehouses in UK and China, they export products to over 60 countries worldwide.

The Exports Logistics ManagerRole:
They require someone with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role looking to step up and take total responsibility for logistics and freight. As the Logistics Export Manager, you will report directly to the Managing Director.

Responsible for managing the International export flow, shipping documentation and customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager:

  • Management of all shipping documentation for all export shipments including Declarations of Compliance, Test Reports, PDD's, Commodity Code Data, Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificate of Origin's and Attested Invoices when required
  • Liaising with shipping agents and freight forwarders. Obtaining and negotiating quotes for freight upon request for all international and domestic shipments. Booking of transport for all UK & Export box and pallet shipments
  • Negotiate and sign off invoices for transport
  • Research and review couriers regularly to ensure the most cost-effective shipment methods for all shipments
  • Work with the Purchasing Manager to solve invoicing/document issues that could delay shipments

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous Expediting / Logistics experience essential
  • Possess a working knowledge of commercial invoices, VAT, incoterms, and general customs delivery paperwork
  • Brexit experience and knowledge required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills
  • Ability to collaborate with different teams and use own initiative
  • Positive, can-do attitude, with drive to be successful
