Maintenance Planner Power Station

Sittingbourne area, Kent

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Planning Engineer / Maintenance Planner / Maintenance Coordinator to join an energy from waste power station near Sittingbourne in Kent. This plant processes over 650,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year producing in excess of 70MW for the grid, enough to power more than 160,000 homes.

As the Planning Engineer you will be responsible for scheduling and tracking the completion of the sites preventative maintenance, repair and outage work.

As the Planning Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Manage, update and maintain the sites computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Ensuring the recommended preventative maintenance schedules for all plant assets are entered correctly into the CMMS
  • Updating all relevant personnel within the O&M Team on weekly and monthly maintenance work orders
  • Attending regular meetings with the operations teams to agree future planned work
  • Maintaining a minimum backlog of open maintenance work orders to efficiently control the work of the maintenance department

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A time served apprenticeship along with an HNC/ONC level qualification in an engineering discipline mechanical, electrical, instrumentation etc
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Maintenance Planner / Planning Engineer / Maintenance Coordinator / Maintenance Team Leader in a heavy industrial process facility e.g. power station, pharmaceutical plant, paper mill, manufacturing facility
  • A competent user of computerised maintenance management systems
  • A strong understanding of engineering and maintenance principles and terminology associated with rotating and static plant found on an EFW plant including turbines, boilers, pumps, compressors, conveyors, water treatment plant etc.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Project and other planning software
  • Experienced in using safe systems of work and capable of creating and approving risk assessments and method statements
