Overview:
My client based in the rail/rolling stock industry is currently recruiting for a Service Delivery Leader based out of their depot based in Cambridge. We are ideally looking for candidates with a BTEC/Level 3 in Engineering and experience within a similar industry.
Job Summary:
Support management of Depot Movements by acting as the PICoTM and DP
To assist the Depot Manager in ensuring all areas of the business are kept up to date
To deputize for the Depot manager during times of leave.
Contractor Management and issue of permits to work
Drive Depot/continuous Improvement innovations
Maintain and manage Depot HSEQ Requirements
Support Stores Management including weekly stock checks
Act as key contact for site and customer for problem solving outside normal office hours
Job Details:
Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant ATC Depot site.
Hold 121s and RTW's with direct reports in a timely fashion - should DM not be available.
Carry out initial training of new staff members including overnight operations (should TRI cover not be required). Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job requirements and have the relevant training to do so
Maintain good employee relations with direct team and follow HR policies and procedures when dealing with ER matters
Manage operational incidents to minimise disruption to both ATC infrastructure and customer's services
Ensure that all staff within the team structures receives technical / non-technical and Safety briefs as and when required. Ensure compliance with required close out timelines
Identify recruitment needs and participate in the selection process. Provide input to induction and training programmes.
Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant ATC Depot site.
Act as the PICoTM for all movements on depot and DP for setting up safe systems of work for the duration of your Duty.
Populate and deliver meaningful KPI's for internal and external monitoring
Attend Daily internal and external conference calls.
Daily management of all stores deliveries to include booking stock into the ATC system and support carrying out weekly depot stock checks.
Manage sub-contractor's / agency personnel, ensure contractors / agency personnel are aware of and meet their full obligations to existing contracts and carry out their work in a safe manner including the issue/closure of permit to work.
Carry out Depot inductions for Visitors, contractors, and new personnel.
Direct management of all calibrated items, fuel stock ordering and control of depot waste streams.
Ensuring that the depot teams and senior management are up to date with all internal and external communications, by acting as a depot document controller, managing briefs, and archiving of documentation.
Ensuring work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards.
Act as the lead for depot 6S and continuous improvement innovations.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for the effective recording of activity in accordance with Company, Customer and best practice Standards, utilising SAP, Maximo and E2M.
Ensure the safe movement of vehicles whilst complying with the Company procedures.
Participate and assist with HSEQ requirements on depot including Legionella, fire alarms, emergency lighting, Depot Risk assessments and Work instructions.
Carry out safety tours and ensure actions are closed in a timely manner.
Carry out Accident/Incident investigations ensuring they are closed out in a timely manner.
Drive continuous improvement innovations.
Use of all PPE in accordance with standards and local instructions
Ensure effective handover between shifts so that the oncoming shift management is aware of all issues and expectations
Ensure the wellbeing of all relevant personnel.
Forklift truck driver when needed
Qualifications Required:
Good standard of education, minimum apprentice trained CI Fitter / Electrician
BTEC in Engineering
NVQ Level 3 certificate in Engineering - Rail Traction & Rolling Stock preferred
Competence Assessor A1 / A2 trained or working towards
Full PTS, DP, PICoTM, FLT licence
Experience and Knowledge:
Full understanding of rail vehicle maintenance.
Management of rail vehicle depot operations.
Sound understanding of railway reporting and IT systems including and not limited to Equi-nox, SAP, Maximo, Realtime trains and Nexala/E2M.
Able to interpret engineering drawings.
Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering.
Understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and requirements
Understanding of production efficiency techniques.
Excellent People management Skills
Understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and requirements, including ISO 9001 and 14001.
Successful and concise communication both to customers and Depot Manager.
Good IT skills, in all aspects of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and depot IT systems.
Good report writing skills.
Excellent understanding of working to standards and procedures.
Ability to work with others and build good, professional relationships.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
Be adaptive to change.
Experience of lean management techniques
