Job Description

Transport Officer

Start: ASAP

Hours: Full time,37 hours per week

Duration: 3 months initially (likely extensions)

Rate: £16.80 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Mainly Office Based - Leicestershire Area

Our client is looking for a Transport Officer to assist in the effective, efficient, and legally compliant delivery of passenger transport services.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service
  • Ensure the effective and efficient planning and procurement of passenger transport services both manually and using available ICT systems.
  • Deliver a programme of efficiency reviews of other aspects of the service, including the purchase of season tickets and the provision of transport for 'fare paying' passengers
  • Ensure vehicles are properly licensed and insured appropriately by the contractor, maintaining administrative procedures as appropriate
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records, including control and maintenance of the Transport Databases and all Transport related manual systems
  • Assist in the effective organisation of transport activities and vehicles, including the planning of the annual review and re-allocation of school transport in the period leading up to each autumn term as required
  • Experience in running and attending meetings, must be a team player, will require complete performance reviews and management
  • Travel between the depots to attend meetings

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS (this can be processed later if you do not have one on the update service)
  • Full valid driving licence
